Privacy policy

We collect as little as we can. Browsing RankStay does not require an account, and we do not run advertising trackers.

What we collect

• Click counts. When you tap WhatsApp, Call, Map, a website link or copy an offer code, we record that a device did so, to show public activity counts. To count one tap per device per day, we set a first-party cookie (rs_did) holding a random ID. We store only a keyed hash of it, not the ID, your IP address or your name.
• Your theme choice (light/dark), saved in your browser's local storage.
• Technical logs kept by our hosting providers (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
• Page analytics. We use DataFast to count visits and see which pages and referrers bring people here. It records the page, referrer and rough location and device type. We use it to decide what to build, not to profile you, and we do not upload your email or any other identifier to it.

If you buy a rank

When you claim a rank we collect the listing's name, city, website or social handle, and a contact email and phone number. We use these to publish the listing, reach you about it, and keep payment records we are required to keep. Your email and phone are not shown on the site.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay directly and never reach our servers; we receive only the payment's status and reference.

What we don't do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not read your contacts, location or messages. Tapping WhatsApp or Call opens your own app; what you say to a hotel is between you and the hotel.

Who processes data for us

The site runs on Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Razorpay (payments) and DataFast (page analytics). They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Your choices

• Clear your cookies and site data at any time; that resets your device ID.
• You may ask us what we hold about you, or ask for correction or deletion, as permitted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Children

RankStay is not directed at children under 18.

Changes

We will update this page, and its date, if our practices change.
